On The Island was a book I had been looking forward to reading for a while. It has a high star rating and sounded like a good read.
I was disappointed. Whilst I found the book inoffensive and quick and easy to read, I also found that the writing didn't flow all that well, it was slightly simplistic and lacked detail and description the whole way through.
The characters were just characters in a book to me, I didn't empathise, I didn't sympathise with them and I didn't care if they survived, died ...more

This was a truly amazing book. I downloaded it last night and read till 2am this morning. I then slept for 6 hours and have read the rest of it today.
The last few chapters had me in tears. Wonderful love story about TJ aged 16 who is in remission from cancer and 30 year old Anna who is to be his tutor for the summer. When their plane goes down they find themselves washed up on a deserted island in the Maldives. This is the story of their fight for survival on the island and the growing emotions ...more

This book was reccommended to me and so glad it was Wow this was beautiful so, sad, romantic and loving and just lovely a defenite must read so.go read!!!!
