It’s been fun revisiting some of my earliest Kristen Ashley books, this go round I wanted to take a peek at some of the stand-alones.
I really thought I forgot this one but a lot slowly came back to me once I dug in. I’ll admit this sort of story line is probably one of my least favorites and I did feel an impending doom while reading but it was easily shaken off and just a story that showcases what KA does best, even in her early days.

So, I liked this book. Not as much as other KA books, but it was still good. I really want Kristen Ashley to write a m/m story. I'd love Lash's story. I picture Gale Harold as Lash. I don't know why exactly this wasn't a 5 star book for me. Maybe it was that the ending was anti-climactic, or that the relationship didn't have the drama of a usual KA book, internal drama that is. Awwwww - this was so sweet and I loved it.
This story starts with Ivey's past, what she does for a living, why she keeps everyone out and lives by the mantra "Play it Safe". Then she meets Gray and thinks maybe she can have a better life and settle in one town.
