Re-read 2023: Wow, didn't realize it's been 10 years since I read this. The thing that struck me most is that this is where it felt like the KA-speak really starts to kick into high gear, but I will say that the romance doesn't just settle into HEA territory, but continues to hold onto the tension all the way to the end. I have to say that for the most part, I loved this book. I loved Sam and Kia and their connection. Sam was the completely alpha and extremely protective of Kia.

And Kia had survived some horrible things in her abusive marriage. She seemed real and she had a personality that kept me reading.

This book was almost perfect. I really did love the first 75%. However, the last 25% didn't work for me. I get Sam needing to work through his issues, but that should have been happening over the whole book a ...more

The only thing that I could say about reading this book is that you should not read it when around other people. It could get embarrassing when you start crying in public for no reason. ;P

Very traditional Kristen Ashley. A sweet summer read with scorching hot guys and some scorching hot sex. Although the outcome was somewhat predictable. A 4.5 star read for me.
