Re-read 2023: Wow, didn't realize it's been 10 years since I read this. The thing that struck me most is that this is where it felt like the KA-speak really starts to kick into high gear, but I will say that the romance doesn't just settle into HEA territory, but continues to hold onto the tension all the way to the end. I have to say that for the most part, I loved this book. I loved Sam and Kia and their connection. Sam was the completely alpha and extremely protective of Kia.
And Kia had survived some horrible things in her abusive marriage. She seemed real and she had a personality that kept me reading.

This was a wonderful love story with lots of character development and only a few obstacles to overcome. Many great secondary characters too. I've only read a few but this was my favourite Kristen Ashley book so far.

The only thing that I could say about reading this book is that you should not read it when around other people. It could get embarrassing when you start crying in public for no reason. ;P
