I'm having trouble working out how to rate this novel. I'm a longtime fan of CoHo, and this novel does what she does really well - explore in intricate detail the internal landscape of the characters. This means that sometimes not a lot actually *happens*, but the impacts of the few happenings are elaborated in lots of convincing detail.

However. This is not a nice read, for 90% of the story. It's not that it's badly written - it's written very well, and with verisimilitude. A marriage like this

Wow! I can’t even begin to tell you how poignant, heartfelt and emotional this story was for me. Not only did parts of the storyline feel like it was taken from parts of my life or those of my loved ones, I felt a soul deep kindred connection to Quinn and Graham.
People who know me will realize that I am in the minority of folks who do NOT run out and buy everything that CoHo writes but I decided to give this a go on a recommendation and it is hands down the best thing I’ve read in a very, very
