I cannot explain how I went from almost DNFing this book, into crying like a baby by the end.
This is my first Heidi Cullinan book, and it will not be my last. It was so beautifully written, the emotion pours off the pages and makes you feel the anger and hatred from obnoxious homophobic jerks. You feel the loneliness that both m/c are living through, and the emotional need they have for each other.

This was a really good read that I have had on my tbr list for awhile. Ranch hand Roe Davis absolutely never mixes business with pleasure until he runs into his boss, Travis Loving, at the only gay bar within two hundred miles. These two begin hooking up and it was hot and heavy it started out with no strings but grew into something more. Roe was kick out when he came out and he has some insecurities. Maybe I'll have time to unkink my thoughts a bit and write a full review later.
My problem is this book is mixed in several ways: It's like a creamy pudding with bits of bitter hard candy; both are good but they don't mix naturally on my palette. Then the chef came along and put a thick layer of peppermint cream over everything. It was an enjoyable read but hard to distinguish all the ingredients, though they were each tasty. ...more

I DNF this one. It's very well written and Heid Cullinan seems to be really good at telling stories but at almost 50% I have realised that it has more BDSM than I am comfortable with and more sex than I need in a book, it reads more like an erotica than anything.
