Hmm... Kinda on the fence with this one,
I wanted to love it as I have all the others but....I'm felt conflicted, they did finally get together, but there was so much back and forth, a 5 year time lapse, jail...the grudge...it was a bit to much!
There was some really good sex scenes "The art lesson" WOW I wish it could have continued along that line... So much more potential to have read about their sexy together times! I was starting to loose my connection and feelings for them as a coup ...more

3.75-4 stars. I love this series! I actually think that Horse's book was one of my first MC reads. I can't put my finger on it, but Painter's story didn't wow me like the others. Don't get me wrong, the writing is still solid but the story felt a bit disjointed. It didn't help that Painter pissed me off for much of the book, but then again I never had much love for him. There is no doubt that Melanie and Painter felt an attraction for one another from the moment they met. The tension was intense, but Painter was the ‘good guy’ and kept things platonic. After Painter lands in jail, the two embark upon a ‘get to know you’ stage through writing letters. Each wants the other to make a bold statement in regards to where they stand. Yet, Painter still plays the role of a gentleman and never makes any promises of a future to Melanie.

After his stint in prison, Painter tries to steer clear of Melanie. What results are mixed feelings that leave Melanie questioning where to turn. Then circumstances present themselves, and Painter gives in to the feelings that he has felt for some time. Claiming Mel is everything that he could have dreamed of and more. The two make up for lost time without any regard to their future.

Events will come into play that lead the two lovers to a crossroad. Decisions are made that alter the future that Melanie dreamed of. Painter finds himself faced with so many ‘wrongs’. Making it right seems so far out of his reach. All Painter knows for certain is that he must find a way to prove to Melanie he can be the man that she always wanted in her life. Will Mel believe in Painter enough to allow herself to love again?

Oh what a journey!! Reaper’s Fall was NOTHING like I expected. What did I expect? Honestly - I don’t know, but I love everything about this series. Reaper’s Fall was another ‘winner’.

Painter….what can I say?? The rugged and cocky biker pulls no punches when it comes to getting what he wants. That includes having Melanie. Still - club life comes first, and that decision doesn’t always sit well with Melanie. The push-pull between the two will cost them so much in their lives. Lost opportunities for the two will lead them back to where it all began. Broken dreams, lonely nights, and the desire for something more…..this is Painter and Melanie’s journey. ...more

I absolutely love Joanna Wylde's books. This books Characters annoyed me especially Melanie. Levi "Painter" Brooks is getting out of jail. Their chemistry is off the charts but holding onto grudges and with him thinking she deserves better than him keeps them apart but in the end they get the HEA. Even though they drove me crazy with the back and forth BS I loved it anyways. ...more

2.75 stars. It took me awhile to get into this one. I felt the story was lacking something. I liked Painter, I understood this is the only life he ever known. Melanie frustrated me. Overall I like this series and will continue reading it
