4.5 stars. Considering the harsh content in this book – i.e. the extreme physical abuse suffered by the heroine (Mae/Salome) and her ‘sisters’ – I really enjoyed this book. Again, it was one of those books I came across awhile back and didn’t fancy it. Then recently saw a friend’s review and decided to give it ago, and I’m glad I did. This is a gritty MC story with tough characters. Styx is a scary man, although he doesn’t come across as that when he is around Mae. But there are scenes that show ...more

I loved this book. A friend told me to read this one and I did and boy it was not what I expected. The story line is different from what I am used to but I loved it. There is a part that was hard to read but I went in knowing this might take place as there is a warning in the beginning of the book.

Intense

This book is as much dark as it is intense because what was described actually happened. The cult being the only place that the frmale character knew and all the teachings that goes with living with them. It is sad to know that there were people who actually believe in the things that was described in the book and actually followed a false teaching.

Ok so I just finished and OMG what a good read. TOTALLY not what I expected!! But now I want know more about Flames story and Kys please tell me theres more coming!! Great as a standalone but I REALLY NEED MORE!!! I loved Styxx and Mae. I loved the relationships she was able to build with the other old ladies.
