Refreshingly different and poignant, yet an eye-opening reveal. A surprise package -- not anything like I was expecting but so much more in every way. The writing is smooth and beautiful. This book was hard for me to put down! I love Lauren Blakely's writing style and this was a sweet story told from the point of view of 17 year old Kennedy. She's grown up the daughter of two successful parents but she has had to navigate the painful world of divorce. She was put in the unenviable position of having to lie for her mother- becoming her mother's accomplice and her alibi while her mother went through one married man after another.

I love stories that rip you open with such raw emotions that you are left standing there wondering what the hell just happened.
First, let me say that I absolutely love Kennedy's father and their relationship. It was real and heartwarming.
I have always been a fan of Lauren Blakely. This book is not her norm. But I loved at all the same.
I really, really did not want to root for the forbidden love once I found out the coupling.
