Obligation was one of those surprising unexpected reads for me that I happened to like and enjoy. In this second installment of The Underground Series, this book had drama, angst, suspense and romance all intertwined into the storyline. I have read all of the Until series and both of the books in this series, so I think it's safe to say I enjoy this author. I pre-ordered this book, so on release day it was patiently waiting for me, then I started noticing meh reviews and decided I was in no hurry and would wait to jump in. This was just a bit too slow for me. It started off well, with a different introduction to the two MCs after they get married. Their story prior to this is told as the book progresses, but not in enough detail IMO, so I was left a little confused and couldnt relate to or route for the two as a couple.

I ended up skimming the last part of the book. A shame, since I enjoyed book 1.

This is the second book in the Underground Kings series. They can be read as standalones, but the two books are entwined and overlap some.

This is a great read and a great series. It's a series I will continue to read.

This is Kai and Myla's story.

We met Kai in Assumption. He is a huge Hawaiian man. I was curious about him in the first book, and so glad he got his story told.
