A delightfully chaotic read, jam-packed with every trope that I can think of. Painter clearly has a knack for crafting romances that are cheesy in an endearing way, sans too cliched somehow, and creatively emotionally satisfying.

Charlie was a character I didn’t expect to like, with his cocky and charming wit, I walked into this book with a bit of a distaste for what felt like a repetitive “bad boy” trope. However, Painter gave Charlie realistic depth and the tone was consistent with him, and I ...more

okay so the thing is - i enjoyed this book. i really did.
the writing was nice (i didnt expect that there would be so many taylor swift references), the chemistry between the characters was also amazing BUT
but
i really really really hate to say this
but
since ive read better than the movies (like literally, two days prior) i couldnt stop myself and notice all the similarities between these two books
and im not talking about the book being a straight out copy of better than the movies

⋆.ೃ࿔ the end was so beautiful
"because you needed me" CUE TEARS

⋆.ೃ࿔ there's smth about lynn painters books and her writing and the buildup that makes them so good. i literally read this so fast just like i have every other book of hers i've read.

⋆.ೃ࿔ normally i hate third act break ups but lynn painter writes them so well and i feel it makes the ending so much more meaningful and beautiful when they worked out their problems, even if it was a bit rushed3
