One Dark Window set up the world and Two Twisted Crowns is the flower bloomed from it. This book is less focused on Ravyn and Elsbeth and gives us Ione, Elm and The Nightmare to dive into. I’m honestly blown away with how much I loved this story. I cannot wait to reread this duology next year.

Great sequel and a perfect wrap up to the series !
Trees I'm sad it's over

“Here we are, my darling girl, he whispered to me. The end of all things. The last page of our story.”

Great gothic romantic fantasies overall

I might never play with a deck of cards the same way ever again

The focus on Elm was a bit unsettling at first especially given Elspeth central importance in the series.
4 Stars - one less than One dark window because the rythm of this book through me off more than once - too slow (

I think my favorite thing about this duology was the Providence cards. I really loved learning more about them and how they came to be in this installment. I also loved having the different POV's. Usually in a duology, the main characters continue to be the main characters. Rayven and Elspeth were kind of put on the back burner. More so Elspeth than Rayven. We got to see and understand the world through Elm's perspective. It made me like his character a lot more. I could NOT stand Hauth...UGH... ...more

-4.5 stars Nightmare is one of my favorite characters in this duology. I didn’t want this series to end. Maybe there will be a branch off series? 🤞🤞🤞

4.5 stars. Book 1 was 5 stars. This one had much less poetry in it, which I missed, but the storytelling was wonderful. The stories wound together in this one and the 2nd love story was amazing - totally unexpected. Lots of twists and turns, no dull parts - I feel like Gillig doesn't waste time with filler (I think Deborah Harkness sometimes does this). I just loved that the story kept moving along. Her books are a joy. ...more

This duology was amazing from start to finish, however, I did miss Elspeth in this book as a center character even though I do love Ione too.
