This is a very condensed synopsis of the series: nine hunky guys who work for a mysterious spy-like academy befriend a young lady from an abusive home. As the nine began falling in love with her, they’re faced with a problem-how to get the Academy to allow them to keep her on their close knit team. A second problem is how to handle these budding romances without the team being torn apart and possibly all of them losing her forever.

I have finished all of the books and this is a series
that has consumed me. As soon as I finished one, I downloaded the next. First thing I reached for when I woke up in the morning. Now I’m all done and am tempted to start all over with book one while I wait for the next one to come out.

The crazy thing is, I can’t explain why I like these books. I am probably being too generous giving them four stars. The plot is not all that heavy and not very credible for the most part. In some of the stories, things happen that aren’t easily explained or don’t make any sense at all.As another reviewer stated, you get to where you really don’t care about the mysterious academy at all. What you do care about are nine too good to be true heroes and the young lady they’re all falling in love with who is not as helpless as we think she is.There’s no sex but a lot of heavy kissing. And maybe that’s where credibility starts to fall apart. There is no way nine normal, healthy, red blooded young men are going to be satisfied with only kissing even it is intense.

There is a fair amount of senseless cursing throughout the books from a few of the characters. Always makes me sad when talented authors are reduced to vulgar language and taking God’s name in vain. But then I figured they probably talk like that themselves so it’s just natural to pass it onto their characters.

What I like about these books is that the heroes have their vulnerabilities. They are incredibly talented but they can’t fix everything. They have to rely on each other and on the strength and wisdom of those outside of their close knit group to solve some of their problems.

Anyone interested in the series can save a little money by buying the two omnibuses. Happy reading!

This is not your typical teenage story as this one is different from the rest in a really brilliant way and there is NO WAY that anyone can create a book better than this one.
