Suzanne Collins didin't spared the readers and characters. The last book in the series will broke your heart in million pieces.

In the first two books from the Hunger Games Trilogy the reader starts to familiarize with the brutal world descibred by Collins. I'm not going into the plot details 'cause i expect the ones who read this review has already read Hunger Games and Catching Fire.

In Mockingjay we are introduced to new rules and a new society of the supposedly extinct disctrit 13. And this is Suzanne Collins didin't spared the readers and characters. The last book in the series will broke your heart in million pieces.

In the first two books from the Hunger Games Trilogy the reader starts to familiarize with the brutal world descibred by Collins. I'm not going into the plot details 'cause i expect the ones who read this review has already read Hunger Games and Catching Fire.

In Mockingjay we are introduced to new rules and a new society of the supposedly extinct disctrit 13. And this is where the most part of the story happens and it starts a month later from the events of Catching Fire. District 12 is in ashes,Peeta has been captured by the Capitol and Katniss is the "face" of the rebellion.

Mockingjay is a slow read and i had the sensation that the story just really unfolds from the middle of the book.

From the start i just have one though on my mind. "Katniss,why don't you save Peeta already?". I Just love this character. Peeta is not the sexyest guy in books but he is so kind. So i wanted a quick resolution for his issue. And when i finally got this resolution was like being punched in the middle of the chest. I don't know how Suzanne Collins do this things,but she do.Without mercy.

About the action scenes,i would say that Mockingjay is almost a battle guide of "How to plan a war ?" or "What are the best battle strategies?". It is a book of war,blood and death. If you are not prepared for this,prepare yourself or give up reading. Don't expect a happy ending because you will not find it in Mockingjay. Collins wanted to be realistic and succeeded.

In the final book in the trilogy we finally find out who Katniss choose.Gale or Peeta. Eventually she had to pick someone. But it wasn't enough. I didin't find the romantic scenes i wanted.

The twist in last few pages of the book is breathtaking but it was not a surprise to me. And a final detail of the book just broke my heart. I had to put the book down,drink some water,watch a movie and laugh a little.Incredible as it seems,i could not cry in Mockingjay. Even in this particular scene,when something terrible happens,i could not cry like i cried at the death of Rue on Huger Games. The book is so hard and dry that i had no tears to shed.

Mockingjay was a disappointment. It was not the book itself that desappointed me,but my own expectations,my own youth who wants and requires a happy ending. The Hunger Games trilogy teaches us that things are as they are and we can only try our best. And that maybe, in the end,this will be enough. Katniss never wanted to be part of the war,she did not have the necessary aggressiveness. She was not a soldier like Gale.She was a girl altruistic enough to take the place of her younger sister in a deadly game. Katniss was the girl who sang and put flowers around Rue after her death. She was the girl who got into a fight to get medicines to save Peeta's life.
She was the girl who saw her home being destroyed by greed and wickedness of men. She was the girl who fell in love for two boys for totally different reasons. So,when you read the series don't be too hard with Katniss. She did what she could do.

I'm giving Goodbye to the series with much sorrow in my heart.I'm not going to miss the scenes of war and blood,but i'm going to miss Peeta,the boy with the bread. Katniss,the girl on fire. Cinna,the genial clothing guy.Finick who was beautiful inside and out. Rue,the girl of the song.Prim,little sister with magic hands.Gale,the soldier. Haymitch who loved Peeta and Katniss in his own way.

Let the Games end.And may the odds be ever in your favor!
