I missed the discussion with my book club for this book because my copy from the library didn't come in until way after the meeting but I still wanted to read it since it is set in Georgia. I thought a bit too much emphasis was placed on places. I'm familiar with the area but I didn't care to have a map drawn for me and I would think that some of the place names would only be important to readers from the area (it felt a little like name-checking).
