This was a fairly quick read which I could have finished faster if I had more time on my hands.
This book follows the twelfth expedition into the place known as Area X. So far, if anyone comes back from Area X, they are changed. This expedition consists of 4 women only known by their titles: the psychologist, the surveyor, the archeologist, and the biologist. The story is told from the biologist's point of view. I'm not a big VanderMeer fan but my book club is so I've read several of his books. Bourne so far has been my favorite. Don't get me started on Dead Astronauts - ugh. Annihilation is kind of in between those on my how much I like scale. It was okay. I didn't really care what happened to the characters. I was interested in Area X and the mind control that seemed to be going on.
