The world is ending, but David's grandfather is prepared. He gathers experts and equipment in order to save his family. The most pressing issue is loss of fertility, so they learn to make clones, but the clones have lost something important that humans have. The story is divided into three parts with three different points of view: David, a clone named Molly, and Molly's unique non-cloned son named Mark. I really enjoyed this book. It felt very modern for being written in the 70s.

I really enjoyed this book. It gives a lot to think to about: individual vs collective, originality vs sameness, etc. The audiobook was easy to listen to.
