This one… wasn't exactly my cup of tea.

I kept putting this one off because I was terrified it was going to ruin the Nutcracker for me, which would be disappointing because it's in my top three favorite stories.

I was right. This is The Nutcracker on smut steroids. You almost wouldn't know it even is a retelling because there's so little plot. You honestly can't read an entire page without sex being mentioned or some kind of sexual act occurring… or a story of a past sexual act. Or some kind of ...more

A great holiday read, but shit there was so much sex it almost made me uncomfortable.

The characters, the settings, and storyline were all recognizable as to who they were from the nutcracker.

However, all we got were maybe 4 characters and some plot from the nutcracker.

I wished for more elements from the play like ballet, maybe some background characters like the snowflakes, mother ginger, Spanish/Arab/Chinese/Russian dancers, dew drop fairy, flowers, and a bit more of the setting.
