Demon Copperhead is the story of a young boy in Appalachia born into poverty and then bounced around in the foster system. It is also the story of him being a star athlete who suffers a debilitating injury at the beginning of the opioid crisis leaving him with addiction that he seemingly is desperate to get rid of, and eventually the coming together of a community to help him find the path to the ocean.
