Although it’s only February, I think it’s safe to say this book will be one of my favorites for this year. This novel is reaching its ninth birthday, yet the concept remains fresh and exciting. So glad I finally get the hype! Can’t wait to read the others!!

I'm not sure if watching the show before reading this series is ruining my experience or helping me appreciate it more. The Six of Crows duology is my favorite thing ever written on the face of this entire planet, so it's safe to say that I placed my expectations a BIT high for Shadow and Bone. The reason I gave the book 3.5 instead of 3 is because I am genuinely interested in continuing the series and I plan on starting Seige And Storm tomorrow or later this week. I didn't enjoy how annoying Alin

The land of Ravka has been decimated by the Shadow Fold; a mysterious consequence of dark magic which blights the landscape in monsters and darkness. The people of this tormented land have not known peace for generations.
While attempting to cross the fold, Army cartographer Alina Starkov finds her transport attacked by the monsters that dwell within. Faced with near-certain death, Alina calls upon a hidden power, and manages to push back the darkness. Returning to non-blighted land, Alina learns ...more
