This book is the start of a series.
And that very obviously translates into the quality of the story.
So far this feels a bit like reading A Court of Thorns and Roses for the first time. The hype this book gets is insane and while I agree that it is reasonable for the series as a whole, I wouldn't say that it is for the first book by itself.
Throne of Glass is similar to that, in the way that it does a great job introducing important characters, setting up plots, and the world-building. ...more

After reading ACOTAR, I knew I wanted to dive deep into the SJM universe and I’m so glad I did. I found TOG better than ACOTAR.

Absolutely loved this book from start to finish! 4.5* rating.
Everyone told me the first book in the TOG series is awful so I went in expecting the worst and ended up loving every page.
Celaena is such a strong, witty and loveable character, who is very sure of herself despite the trauma she has been through. I love her so much and she is definitely up there with my favourite FMC.
All the main characters in this book are so well written, and the plot itself is both action packed and fun. The world ...more

there could have been more details but all in all it was pretty great!
