I hate to disappoint the girlies but...Ill give it 3.5 because the ending was fun and anxiety inducing :D

I don't want to say anything BAD about TOG 1 because I KNOW it gets better and I ABSOLUTELY will be continuing the series. I know SJM tends to make boring first books in her series and that's okay, I still love her.

Sarah J Maas has opened a world where a young female assign has to fight for freedom and find her place in a world where the past and present collide. Torn between the men who would love her and the friends who seek to strengthen her is a badass girl becoming a women. I enjoyed this book and am ready to dive into the rest of this series!

This was really good! I had high expectations for this series, and this first book met them. I decided that I’m going to read The Assassin‘s Blade third, so this was my first book in the series and I loved it. Every character felt important and had legitimate personalities and stories. I loved this setting and world because we got a bit of everything ; there was some royalty, kingdoms, magic, alternate realms. The list goes on. It had everything I love in a fantasy 🫶

I've been in a super bad reading slump so that definitely made me take such a long in finishing this book but it was not the book's fault because when I would read it I definitely enjoyed it.
I really like Celaena's character and I look forward to getting to know a lot more about her.
Her friendships/relationships with Dorian and Chaol were very interesting and I can't wait to see what else is in store for all of them, both in their friendship with each other and in their individual storylines. ...more

I liked this, especially the ending. It took me a fat minute to get through and I’ve been so busy to the point where I just wasn’t interested. I’m definitely excited to continue the series!! (I love Chaol ok).
