3 Stars...started off confusing, slow and didn't catch my interest at first, but as the story went on it was a bit better. I did have this on audio CD in my car, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it, but other books have been great in audio format? I do like the fact that Reese Witherspoon read this one, but I kept picturing her in Sweet Home Alabama. Maybe that was part of the distraction? Anyway, overall it was an ok read. You can't really compare this book to "To Kill a Mockingbird", as it's subject matter is slightly more advanced than just a simple court case. I did enjoy this one, although had it not been for me knowing the characters prior I wouldn't have loved them as so - the development is off as far as you knowing and understanding where each character morally stands. It's nice to see this book finally published after being rejected mid-20th century.
