I know, I know it's an unpopular opinion but I didn't connect with the characters at all (except the frog and the villain, who have been my favorite characters) 😕

One thing that may have made me not enjoy the book as much is the way they narrate Evie (I've listened to the audiobook) and they literally act out her voice as if she were a 15 year old girl which... yeah, I found it a little weird 🥴

This book had me blushing and kicking my feet
Firstly I loved the Grumpy x Sunshine kinda dynamic with a slow burn also I feel like Evie the FMC really represents a lot of readers in real life.I loved the dual POV cause I needed both characters' inner monologues and this was surprisingly a good mystery/workplace romance. Another plus for me was that there was no spice.

Wow this was surprisingly good! I went in with low expectations, but was blown away by this book. The characters were funny and the angst and yearning was great! It had twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. And little Kingsley was so cute 🐸 👑 This is the best palette cleanser from epic fantasy. It is a magical world full of whimsy! I love the wonderful weird band of misfits! Such a lighthearted fun book 🥰

well as I said I guessed the whole plot twist, but considering this was a debut novel I enjoyed the writing and characters. I wish we got more backstory on some of the side characters & had a more exciting ending but other than that it was okay. By no means a literary masterpiece (which wasn’t even what the author intended), but a piece of literature made for amusement and thrill.
