4.5 Stars rounded up, honestly first of all the writing was magnificent, the way it expressed a sort of casual mood but also showed sophistication.

Violet and Xaden were wonderfully crafted however I honesty felt like their tension should have started sooner and possibly been a bit more prominent, at times it felt a bit too laid back. But nonetheless I was still intrigued in Voilet's POV.

I need to do a re-read of this book to really hone down on it reading up to the last battle scene I kind of f ...more

Third time reading it and it seriously sunk its teeth into me just like the first and second time. At some points i praise Violet for being a badass, then i wanna slap her so hard when she is being unreasonable and not giving Xaden a second chance when she gave that idiot who deserves to die Dain about a million. The ending hits me every single time, amazing book and would totally recommend.

I loved how this book was written! It was really cool and I loved the plot, the characters and everything in it. I thought that the idea of a war college was really interesting, the only thing that really bugged me in this book was how everyone kept on mentioning how Violet was short like ALL THE TIME and how that was ALWAYS a disadvantage to her. But other than that it was a really great book that I'd definitely recommend to anyone who is into fantasy romance. ...more
