It took me FOREVER to finish this book.
No offence to anyone who had enjoyed this book, it just wasn't for me.

Okay, who am I kidding, I didn't even finish it. ~~(poor 15 chapters are crying rn)~~
I honestly thought this series would be better and more interesting than Caraval. How wrong I was.
I was more hooked by the story at the 20% mark in Caraval than the 60% mark in OUABH.

Book Summary:
Boring. Yawning. Sloppy... Lazy.

My favourite series in the whole universe 🥹 I first read Once Upon a Broken Heart back in December 2022 and I am so thankful that I did. It’s the book that got me back into reading and it will always hold a very special place in my heart. ∞/5 ★

My favourite series in the whole universe 🥹 I first read Once Upon a Broken Heart back in December 2022 and I am so thankful that I did. It’s the book that got me back into reading and it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Evangeline and Jacks MEAN THE WHOLE WORLD TO ME. I relate to Evangeline a lot. She’s so sweet and kind and sometimes a bit too trusting but it does not matter to me because I AM HER NUMBER ONE DEFENDER. Evangeline Fox can do no wrong (she can and she has but shhhhhh we won’t talk about that)!!! Evangeline is by far my favourite fmc and I love everything about her. Jacks has been my favourite book bf since the moment I read this book and I don’t think any other book man will top him. Every time he opens his mouth I act like a rabid dog because HE IS JUST SO FINE. Jacks can also do no wrong (he also can do wrong and he has done wrong many times but he’s Jacks so I obviously forgive him)!!! Jacks is the most swoon worthy book boyfriend and I will die on that hill.

Stephanie Garber’s writing style is one of my favourites I have ever read! I love how detailed and whimsy the Magnificent North is and her writing style captures my attention in every single one of her books. She has a way with words that makes you want to keep reading because of how whimsical and magical they are. Her style of writing really makes me feel like I’m truly there in the Magnificent North along with the characters.I’m so excited for Alchemy of Secrets and to see how her writing style will differ since it will be in a whole new world for the first time!

If you have not read this series yet, PLEASE DO. It was life changing for me and it’s the only reason I got back into reading and got out of my year long reading slump!!! Rereading the books in this series is something I am always so joyous to do and I hope that this will one day be the same for you 🫶🏻 ...more

This was SO good, like I loved everything about it, the energy and the characters pulled the story together, I liked that it was fast pace. (even though it took me forever to read because of my outrageous book slump) but I loved it!! I’m so scared for the second one though because apparently that one brings a lot of tears!😫
