Well, that was certainly a departure from my usual reading fare! The Ritual by Shantel Tessier was undeniably a deep dive into the darker side of romance, a far cry from the lighter reads I often gravitate towards. I'll admit, it took me a little while to adjust to the sheer intensity of it all, but once I did, I found myself completely engrossed.

As someone who loves dark romance and spicy books I must say, this one did not hit for me, which is really unfortunate because I can see how many people liked it. Tbh I read this a while ago and all I remember is that there is a initiation or smt like that and that her father asked the MMC to go out with her or smt. Everything else is a blur, which is the main reason for my grading.

This book is fucked up but I could not put it down! I was worried because there were so many terrible reviews, but o read it in 2 days because I couldn’t stop.
Yes - a ton of sex and smut
Yes - some scenes with violence and murder
Yes - a lot of scenes of violence and sex (mainly consensual)

Still had story development with twists and turns, and character development with even more twists and surprises.
