I'm a big fan of Mique Watson's work and hope to read more books by him. This story deals with doppelgangers, or mimics, as they're called in the book. They are the definition of evil, and commit the most heinous, vile acts you can imagine. Since this is extreme horror, the acts are extremely graphic and this novel is severely heavy on sexual assault so if these are triggers, this story isn't for you. This author has a way of getting into your head and staying there. ...more

I was truly divided 50/50 by this book...
I wanted to give it 5 stars just for all the extreme sickness, gore and brutality it spewed out of it's blood covered pages!!
But the story line just didn't hold up for me...I wanted to know more...why did this madness happen...who were these flesh eating sex maniac killers...where did they come from???
I was left rather empty and disappointed...even after a stomach full of horrendous mutilation and torture scenes.
I felt that the weak story line was somewha

I really enjoyed this book. The storyline was dope. The kills were super sick and twisted, especially when it came down to the baby one 😳I kind of guessed how the ending was going to be, but to the exact. This book is super disgusting!!!

Ugh - this was an exhausting and unsatisfying read. There’s something about the first two chapters that feel like an old school horror movie and you hope you’re either in for a new kind of overnight apocalypse or even your standard body snatcher book. This wasn’t in any way that.

The warnings about it devolving almost instantaneously in the third chapter are spot on. Felt like a 14 year old trying to show you weird shock sites for a rise in homeroom.

The worst part is it never warps up - there’s

They look like people.

In the very best, most complimentary way I can muster, this was a wholly unpleasant reading experience. "Them" is one of the single most disturbing, depraved, offensive and gory pieces of nightmare fuel that has ever desecrated the screen of my Kindle. Never has a book so strongly made me wish that I didn't have eyes. I loved every grotesque second of it.

Before picking this novel up, I was very much aware of Mique's tastes in fiction. As a fan of his content, I knew just wh

Wow!!!

I cannot wait to see what Mr. Watson comes up with next! His books are so violent, but man, can he tell a story?!?!? He has a wonderful vocabulary and a wild imagination… what’s next????!!!!!????

3.5-Boy, this was wild. The overall story was really cool and entertaining. Was not ready for some events that took place doing the book. Even with some of the more intense stuff I still liked the book a lot!

not one to DNF books, but here we are. absolutely rancid, vile, grotesque; this books feels like extreme fetish content and a story written solely to shock people. i worry about anyone that says they enjoyed this book. discovering that mique watson is a man makes this horrendous depiction of SA all the more unsettling and absolutely leaves a foul taste in my mouth. if i could give this book negative stars i would.
