This book started off REALLY great, then got boring and repetitive. 2.5 (lowering it down to 2 stars). I’m sorry! It was just not a good fit for me at all.

It really got my attention right from the very beginning! I was thinking to myself, this is so unique the way it is all set up. I really wanted to know what was going to happen next. This was a spooky possession story that follows the rapid decline of a young couple's mental state. It makes non-believers, well believe, and terrifies them beyond all comprehensible measures.

I've passed by this book so many times, I thought it was just anther supernatural book which is fine but most bore me and don't scare me. To my absolute surprise it was a Native American supernatural book!!! I'm Native American and I grew up with some scary lore and beliefs. Don't whistle after dark, don't answer the calls from the woods, leave offerings for the little people... I could go on. When I first started reading this I was like oh no... It's a wendigo, the absolute stuff of nightmares ...more
