I can genuinely say this is the first book to make me feel something close to real fear. The way it dives into native lore, isolation, mourning, death, and spiritualism is absolutely chilling. The mimic, the lurking presence—it genuinely terrified me. I was initially worried because the book starts with an insane intensity, but for me, it maintained that tension all the way through. If you scream into the void, something will answer—wow, this book truly captured that dread.

This was a spooky possession story that follows the rapid decline of a young couple's mental state. It makes non-believers, well believe, and terrifies them beyond all comprehensible measures.
