I finally read The Cuckoo's Calling! I don't know why I have put it off for so long but I finally got to it and loved it!

Crime fiction isn't something I would usually gravitate towards but I read Rivers of London a few months ago and loved it, and was looking for something similar on my book shelves so thought I'd try this. This is definitely more of a detective novel that a crime as there isn't the gory descriptions of forensics that go on in crime books. This felt more like a modern-day Sher ...more

I give up on this book.

No, I didn't have high expectations, and no I didn't expect it to be anything like Harry Potter, I am neither delusional nor ignorant, I have also read my fair share of crime and thriller, so I know what I like and don't like. This I don't like.

I'm a bit more than halfway through the book, page 245 to be exact, but I can't ask myself to continue this anymore. I'll be giving this book away, along with some 20 others to my school's library. ...more
