Regardless of who the author is, this is a proper old school detective story. Great, memorable, yet not hackneyed characters, beautiful fluid writing and a plot that isn't too intricate and convoluted to follow. Very much looking forward to the next volume.

the plot never grabbed me, and i felt the writing was overdone.. i also didn't really care that much for the characters (again) ugh
