Ah, so sorry to all of the people who insisted that I would love this. It had exactly every single problem I was worried it would have. Plus, in my opinion, a weak conclusion to the mystery. I won't be continuing on with more of the series. ...more

I will always love a good murder/mystery story and this one certainly delivered. The way in which each clue was woven together was quite interesting and I definitely didn't see all the connections until the very end. And I also wasn't able to predict who the real murderer was; it came as a real shock to me! This book had a "slow burn" effect for me in which I was left wanting to know what was going to happen, which clue he was going to be chasing next, and who the real killer actually was. ...more

Honestly, I don't get why I liked this books so much. It did two things that I normally hate when authors do (huge dialog chunks and a lot of description), but in this book it really worked! It was an engaging mystery with strong characters. I liked it and hope there is another one in the series. I highlighted so many quotes in this book!

Not bad, but underwhelming. I was expecting a lot more, what with all the good reviews. I liked The Casual Vacancy better.
