I am not familiar with Jeffery Archer. I bought the first book by an book store keeper suggestion.I loved the first book but there where some bad review about the book. The first book “Only Time Will Tell” is not up-to the expectation for many people. But the author make the second book of his Clifton Chronicle as the remarkable book that over come all the back logs from his first book.

A very quick read. Ended with another cliff-hanger. You will want to have book 3 ready to start as soon as this one is done. I hadn't realized that Book 4 just came out in March, 2014. I've already reserved my copy from the library. Unlike the last Ken Follett series, I am glad I didn't have to wait almost a year before the next installment came out. It keeps the story fresh in mind.

Another enticing book by Jeffrey Archer. Quick read and interesting plots, though don't think they are as detailed as Only Time Will Tell. We continue with Harry, Emma, Giles, Maisie and Hugo. Hugo doesn't disappoint and continues to be the low down villain as in the previous books. It's just amazing how low he will go though, not only to those he thinks he is better than, but to everyone who stands in the way of what he wants. Maisie is free thinking and continues to learn and grow. Emma is out

I think this was just one Jeffrey Archer too many. It felt too similar to some of his other books like Sons of Fortune or Prisoner of Birth, but I enjoyed those more because I those stories had more meat.
Nonetheless, it was entertaining with interesting coincidences and predicaments. The end felt a little too drawn out though.
Note: Did not realize that it was part of a series until I'd read it, and I can't say I'm very eager to read its predecessor or sequels. ...more

Not as good as Only Time Will Tell, but once again a pretty good, quick read. This book continues on with the story of Harry Clifton and once again ends in a dramatic cliff hanger, this is starting to bug me, but ever the sucker, I have already started the third book. I'm glad I started this series late, or I really would have been irritated to have to wait for the next book...

Like the first book in the series I couldn't put it down. Giles' character is annoyingly inconsistent but that didn't hamper my enjoyment. On to the next book!

Just as good as the first installment. I can't wait to find out what happens to Harry Clifton!

A wonderful continuation of the Clifton chronicles... Taking us through WWII, the rise and fall of Giles and Emma's father, and the introduction of American characters.
