What Members Thought

2020: I'm going to be really honest...when I first read this book back in 2011, I read through it so quickly that I really forgot a lot of details until the movie came out. While I loved the book, it was definitely my least favorite of the series.
Here I am, 24 years old. I read this series for the first time when I was 15 years old. It's so eye-opening and more meaningful to be reading this as an adult. It brought me back to late nights until I finished a book, falling in love with my favorite c ...more

How could I begin? Well, I'd never forget this trilogy. It's been a part of me since I started it, and it was less than a month ago.
I loved it, I really liked that Peeta and Katniss finally stay together; that's what almost all of us wanted, right? Anyways, like all good books, it has got a very dissappointing things.
1. Deaths. Why? Why a lot of people die? Is it just to justify the way to get the Cap? Because, there are some deaths that are unnecesary.

This is a book that hurts.
That was my first thought after I finished reading it.
It is not one of those sugarcoated books, where in the end we can feel everything is going to be alright. But don't get me wrong, there's still some hope flickering through pages thick with sadness, loss and grieving.
You really get to love and hate all characters at some point, but I couldn't expect anything else in such an emotional journey as the one Katniss takes up.

I thinks this book is pretty good but it's a very slow story and is very sad. I think your opinion on this book may very though. over all i didn't love it.
After rereading this (well listening to the audiobook) a few years later, it has actually become my favorite hunger games novel. I just realized how much i loved the way Katniss slowly drifted into madness and was this shell of a person who was supposed to be a symbol for a rebellion and oh i just got so much more out of it. ...more

A great end to a great series...it's a little hard to get into, but after page 200, things pick up drastically! :)
