WOW. I am so genuinely stunned. This story is so artistically crafted. I tend to forget the details of books not long after I read them but this story is truly special. In one way, I regret that it took me over 4 years (yeah, seriously) to get around to reading this book, but truthfully, I'm glad I read it when I did because I'm concerned I may not have appreciated it as much when I was younger. I'm out of my reading slump! After a solid two months of barely any reading, I finished three books in one week! There's no better feeling than finally returning to so many books and stories and to be able to really enjoy reading them. The first book that I read is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Now I know the hype train for this book is long gone (if you read the book, you'll catch the joke!), but I couldn't resist finally reading it too.

This book was so beautifully written. I can't get passed how creative it was. The story was so magical and interesting, and I hadn't the slightest clue how it would end which was exciting. What lost this book a star was how confusing it was. The dates jumped back and forth and I just found it a bit hard to keep up at times.

An interesting and beautifully descriptive book. I'm glad I decided to listen to it on audio book because it never would have held my attention if I was reading it. Too many characters to keep straight and a lot of flip flopping between times.

Yikes. This started out imaginative and interesting, but by roughly 70% of the way through, I was skimming chapters just to get it over with. Could have been so much more than what it was.
The circus scenes and imagery were lovely, as were most of the side characters, but the main "love story" felt so shallow, false, and cheap (and boring!!) that I was bitter about it being involved with the rest of the story.

The descriptions were so lush, I wish the circus really existed so we could visit! I also love how events or descriptions that seemed to simply further deepen a character end up all being tied together. This book has definitely joined my favorite books read.
