A young adult book set in the south about a girl who gains power of a Paladin (read: kick ass, Buffy-esque awesomeness)?! COUNT ME IN.

The southern-ness in this book is top notch. I felt like it was in the book without punching me in the face. Like when Harper says she feels like she’s about to go into a diabetic coma, but reaches for another glass of sweet tea anyway. The struggle is real, y’all. The struggle is real. And although I’ve never had grapes with mayo as a snac

“Bruce Wayne's parents get killed and he goes to Tibet or whatever, and Superman is an alien, and Spiderman had that radioactive spider. Me? I kissed a janitor in the school bathroom.”

I honestly thought I wouldn't like this book, what with the cutesy cover (albeit the knife), but it was actually a pleasantly delightful read. Never judge a book by the cover so they say! I actually wanted to eat popcorn while reading this book. It was funny, cute and interesting.

The concept of the story is ori

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!

What a lovely joy ride Rebel Belle has been. Don't let the pink girly cover fool you -- Rebel Belle has more to offer than sweet pearl-wearing teenage girls.

Rebel Belle is the story of Harper Price who gains superhero powers after a traumatic turn of events (in a bathroom, no less). And of course she has to protect the one guy she hates the most: David Stark. In between preparing for cotillion, being President of the

Definitely one of my favourites of 2014. The MCs are hilarious, the plot is action-packed, and the twists made me gasp.
Characters

Harper Jane “Pres” Price is probably one of the funniest characters I’ve ever read. I loved her from page one. Well actually, I think I especially loved her when she stabbed her History teacher in the throat with her high heel. How badass is that? Her action, romance, dialogue and thoughts kept me entertained.
Yeah, I wanted to slap her ahead a couple pages; like that

First and foremost, I demoted Rebel Belle from four stars to three because of the grammatical errors throughout the novel. I was quite disappointed with the overuse of passive voice in the first few chapters, the misused comma rules, and, most of all, the ridiculous amount of sentences that ended with prepositions. I understand that the story was told in the first person, and from a high school girl's point-of-view, but that does not excuse poor grammar.

Putting the writing errors aside, I did e

Eeh... The end of this book is a great big disappointment. It starts off SO funny, then moves on to KICK ASS...and then, very quickly fizzles out. Also, it's weird that Harper moved on from a 2 year relationship to a new one in a matter of 10 minutes. Adding Ryan to the mix makes the story extremely forced and awkward. Meh...

Also, I wonder if the Ephors really still exists. What if Blythe, our insane young mage, got sick of training and decided to kill off the Ephors? What if she's totally rogu

I really enjoyed this book so much!

The pacing was fast. Check.
There's a lot of funny dialogs. So that's a check.
Character development. Check.
Kick-ass character/s. Check check.
Plot twist. Check check check.

My only issue was the last part thing.
*SPOILER ALERT*
When Saylor passed on to Ryan her Mage powers. And you know I HATE LOVE TRIANGLES.
I've been pissed halfway of this book when Ryan was always left out but of course, Hawkins has bigger plan for his character.
But no, that MageRyan move was
