What Members Thought

I picked up a copy of Me Before You a while back at a used bookstore and as is typical with me, I put it on my shelf and forgot about it. It wasn't until an Instagram friend raved about it that I decided to finally pick it up. It's fairly hard to talk about certain aspects without giving things away because the synopsis is really quite vague. But to say that this book touched me would be a huge understatement! It's so beautifully written. It's heartbreaking, but at the same time it's incredibly

"Don't let that one night define you."
Oh my heart! A messy bundle of feelings is what Me Before You left me.
I can't figure out if my emotions are pure pain or bittersweet happiness or even both at the same time.
The story is so deep and ethereal and enchanting and eyes-opening.. I now realize how many million blessings we overlook each minute.. Like, it's taught me that being able to move my own hand is a blessing itself. How many people actually consider that?? My God, so unbelievable..

“Push yourself. Don’t settle. Wear those stripy legs with pride. And if you insist on settling down with some ridiculous bloke, make sure some of this is squirreled away somewhere. Knowing you still have possibilities is a luxury. Knowing I might have given them to you has alleviated something for me.”

Had a really interesting premise that initially drew my attention...Really liked the first half of the book but the second half it sort of dragged on and in the end it just felt that something was missing. Probably cause I already sort of guessed the ending or probably I had heard a lot of praise for this book and my expectations were a lot higher...

How do I feel about Me Before You? Well....I don't know....for the most part I loved it! I loved the witty banter and the sassy british humor! The only reason I didn't love it was because it didn't end the way that I wanted it to end! haha Other than that it was well worth the read! :D

What can I say I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it either. Yes the writing is good and the characters are brilliant but in the end I really did just want to hurry up and finish it. It had some fantastic moments but just not enough for me to love it. I still can't wait to see the movie through because I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will love the it just based on the cast.
