this book was one of my most anticipated read of 2016 and let me tell you it did not disappoint. it was defiantly different and unique. i loved the story line then again i'm discovering that i'm really getting into the whole time travel genre. this would mark my second series the first being the ruby red trilogy which was just as amazing. what i love about this book was how we got to see different part of history. London during the blitz that was truly amazing. and we got to see the 18 century which i really like! some thing that i don't usually see in books and i'm not saying it to be racist is that we never see colored couple in books this is a first for me and i wasn't sure that i was going to like but i was wrong Etta and Nichola are just so perfect for each other!! i totally ship them and omg i love Nicholas! i love that the romance was not rush even though they just barely know each other, but the way it was delivered in the book it didn't feel like that even though they did spend like maybe less than a month on sea but they hardly talked expect that one night after the first dinner on the ship. I thought it was adorable how insecure Nicholas was because of his color like oh honey that doesn't matter anymore not in this century anyways. i really dislike Sophia, she's really not the best character and i guess you can understand that she wants to be someone but because she is a girl she get's neglected and it must be frustrated for her. but still i don't like her, I think she got what she deserve at the end, she made a bad choice so what happened to her was only her own fault. I hope in the next book she will start to make better decisions. i dislike the parts where Nicholas and Etta were separated my heart hurt. i cant describe the feeling but oh my hurt ache so much, from the look of things the next book they were going to be apart because of an event that happened that she went somewhere else. and thats all i'm going to say about that. this wasn't a shocker because it was said by Alice but it wasn't totally confirm until the ending when we hear Rose say that Etta's father is henry who is apparently the leaders of the thorns and he's out to get the Ironwoods, now that I'm thinking about it this sort of has a Romeo and Juliet complex because there a family feud. ironwoods vs the thorns. expect that Etta is not part of the ironwood or thorns she's from another time travel family but Nicholas is an ironwoods. they both join forces to uncover a secret that Etta's mom Rose hid from the families that both families would die to get it. Etta gets thrown head first into this world that she didn't even know existed. This book is full of adventure, romances everything i love in a book! i defiantly recommend this book. you will not be disappointed! ...more

Tinha medo de ler este livro, por causa das opiniões negativas. Mas eu, vou contra a maré e digo: gostei. Há algumas coisas mal explicadas, mas não são muito relevantes (ainda não entendi o que eles foram fazer a Paris).

A ação não é tão lenta assim. E gostei bastante do relacionamento desenvolvido entre a Etta e o Nickolas. Portanto, não tive problemas com o tempo da ação, mas achei os capítulos muito longos. Adorei os cliffhangers finais.

P.S.: Só eu é quando descobri que o moço se chamava Nic ...more
