“Even in the Future the Story Begins with Once Upon a Time.”
This.Was.Awesome.
This book was great! I was completely addicted while reading this, I finished it in less than two days. It was serioulsy good.
This book is a dystopian retelling of the fairytale Cinderella, but in this case, our Cinder is a cyborg. A freaking cyborg. Talk about new and exciting.

Wondrously unique and addictive.
Oh Stars in heaven, I need Scarlet right at this very moment. I am surprised that I loved this book more than I allow myself to. To be honest I didn't set my expectations too high, the least I wanted to happen was to end up disappointed. But boy, this book is anything but disappointment. It was a real page-turner. It has everything I wanted in a book: romance, great world-building, badass heroine and some fantasy. I specifically loved that the things that have ...more

I FIN-A-LLY reread this, and I'm super happy I did instead of just using Recaptains to remind me of everything in the first 3 books and jumping into Winter. I caught more this time around, was able to appreciate it more, realized Jacin made an appearance long before Cress. Also, Cinder's sarcasm gives me life. KEEP BEING YOU, GIRL. And I loved it, still, though maybe not as much as I did in 2013. But that doesn't really matter as I enjoyed this reread a hell of a lot and I'm excited to continue

I've read very mixed reviews about Cinder, some people rave about it and others hated it. I personally loved it.
It's a completely different kind of book to anything I've read. It's almost like fantasy rather than dystopian as the world is so different to anything we have.
I loved Cinder, she was a brilliant character; she was bitter, sarcastic, insecure but ultimately very well intentioned and a wholly decent person. The fact that she's a cyborg makes her even cooler in my opinion. I felt very ...more

First off, I'm glad I found the series when it was completed because it's great to be able to read all without having to wait, though I often do if the first in the series is good.
Cinder is a great character, so spunky and determined to do what's right even if it's not in her best interest, and even if the one she cares for is someone she can never be with. The background is totally creative and believable, which isn't often the case, especially with the retelling of a fairytale, which this ...more

I have to say, Meyer puts an interesting perspective on fairy tales. She takes a simple, obvious plot-line and adds a little twist to surprise the reader. The futuristic Cinderella story wasn't complicated, but the author's knack for detail and her extensive culture and medical research was obvious. The romance between Cinder and Prince Kai was a bit cheesy and reminded me quite a bit of the movie "Ever After" with Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott. Seen from the main character's perspective, how

Finished this within a day.
I know how the story will end even when I was still on the first chapter, it is quite predictable. However predictable it is, it has kept me hooked!
Now, Cyborg? Aliens from the moon? An emperor? A plague?
One word to sum it all up: AWESOME
I love the characters especially Cinder and Prince Kai, I find all of them interesting (With the exception of Adri and Pearl, they can go to hell for all I care) and I just love how the story takes place in Beijing, not to mention New ...more
