I had high hopes for this book. Great reviews, engaging synopsis, and a beautiful cover all drew my attention straight out of the gates. But I was quickly disappointed. I know I will be making lots of people mad by saying this, but I feel like it's a book we're going to give to our children when they ask what was popular at the time; it has every cliche, every stereotype, that pervades BookTok.

enemies to lovers trope for all the helpless romantics that want to scream all night reading a book. 🤭

68 chapters and almost five hundred pages and the book that emotionally destroyed me 🎢

This book literally became my favorite on the first 5 chapters, YES THE FIRST FIVE DONT JUDGE ME OK 👺

This book was A-Maze-Ing! I loved it! I hope u guys enjoy it as much as I did, but even if not, that doesn't change my opinion. I love how Lauren Roberts can make u fall in love with the characters. Personally, my favs were Paedun, Kai or should I say Malicia 😆, Kitt, and Jax. It's like the 3 brothers, but let's just throw Paedun in there. XD I also love how the author is a Christian. I put this off too long and I regret it. It’s so expertly crafted into this amazing story and I can’t wait to finish the series!! All the characters have so much thought put into them… now every other read will seem worse cause my expectations just went up 🤦‍♀️😁

She's so stunning, yet so stubbornly oblivious to how the sunset behind dulls in comparison to the vibrance that is her.

I . . . honestly don't know what to feel about this book. There's some stuff I really loved, and some stuff that I didn't. But the ending definitely makes it deserve four stars.

Violence: Stabbing. Lots of fights. Characters are murdered and thrown into fire. Mild descriptions of torture and past memories of whippings.

and the best debut i have ever read
it was incredible and the story is amazing

Holy shit. This book genuinely is just so good. The tension. The banter. The plot and storyline just ughh. The plot is predictable and it’s not the best writing i’ve read but I still ate up every freaking word. I’m literally obsessed with Kai Azer and watching Paedyn grow was just amazing. The end literally ruined me. Let’s just say I cried, squealed and giggled quite a bit. 10/10 would recommend.
