This is a collection of both previously published "Nick Adams" stories by Hemingway arranged in the order of Nick's chronological life. The unpublished are in italics type and it is easy to tell that Hemingway had not finished them as they do not reflect Hemingway's wordmanship that make reading his published stories so enjoyable. However, the preface to the collection acknowledges this, the value is to learn more about Hemingway and about his alter ego.
