I really enjoyed this book! Props to Holly Jackson for wrapping things up so nicely. I love her writing style. If you are on a hunt for a fast paced thriller with twists and interesting characters, do give this one a go!

This book holds a special place in my heart because it got me out of my reading slump.
Backstory: I used to read every second of every day until the pandemic hit. Then for some reason, I stopped reading completely. I did read a book in May of 2023 which was the first book I read in 3 years. But that didn't get me out of my slump. A friend of mine always raved about this book and I was intrigued. I finall

I did read a book in May of 2023 which was the first book I read in 3 years. But that didn't get me out of my slump. A friend of mine always raved about this book and I was intrigued. I finally read it and since then I've been reading a lot more.
From the characters to the plot to the writing style, I love everything about this book.

This book follows Pippa Fitz-Amobi trying to solve a case that she suspects the police got wrong. A few years ago, Sal Singh was accused of murdering his girlfriend Andie Bell, and killing himself right after. However, Pip doesn't believe this and with the help of Sal's brother Ravi Singh, they try solving the case. Every word had me hooked and I was dying to know what happened. There were plot twists and reveals everywhere and I loved it.

I also loved the characters. Pip is one of my favorite characters I've read and I still, to this day, think about her randomly. I love how smart and clever she is. I also love Ravi so much. Reading this made me realize how I love romance subplots more than actual romance books. Pip and Ravi's relationship had me giggling and kicking my feet (in my head obviously). I absolutely ADORE them. Mind you, at first, I really didn't want them together (I can't remember why anymore) but as I watched their relationship evolve, I fell in love with them.

I was not planning on reading the rest of the series but this book had me so invested in the lives of Pip, Ravi, Cara, and the others that my mind left me no choice. If you like YA and mystery I would 100% recommend it to you as I did with my friends. If you're older you MAY find it a little juvenile but it depends on your taste.
My friends were probably sick of me ranting about it for months (it's only been 2 months) after I read it but it's okay 'cause I got them hooked too. ...more
