I liked the first two Takeshi Kovacs books enough that I forced myself through this one. Morgan is an excellent writer, but things just didn't come together. There were scenes, and people, but it seemed fragmented - too often, I didn't understand who the people were, how they got there, or what they were doing. And didn't find myself caring enough to read back and see if I'd missed something. Lots of violence, as expected, and sex too. Both seemed pretty mechanical. The big question was Kovacs's

Feels like there was no plot planned for the book, just stuff happening to the main character. This one basically just wrapped up a bunch of background setting stuff from previous 2 books. The main character is even more unlikeable misogynist than last time. There's a theme about rebelling against oppression but it doesn't really lift this one.
