I DNF'd this a year ago. I decided to give it another chance. I stand by why I DNF'd it but this time it was an immersion read and it was the only way I could follow everything that was happening. I really liked the story and perspectives but there is too much fluff which makes it difficult to follow and there's a lot of implied things that are described but never said out loud. The split perspectives experiencing the events of the war is a different style from most historical fictions I’ve read based on WW2. I especially loved how we experience it through a blind character. The authors descriptions and writing style kept me captivated and I didn’t see the end coming.
