This was one of my favorite children's book. It is a very easy and fast read. I love how it is told through a "normal" 12 year old's perspective, being able to understand all of her deep thoughts regarding growing up with an autistic younger brother. Cynthia Lord did a great job of always keeping the reader engaged in the story. Her use of the RULES randomly listed throughout the story plays a huge role in developing the plot-line. This book is beautifully written. I think that a lot of times we really focus on the child who has autism and their parents. This leaves the siblings of these children out constantly. It was so nice to read this novel from the siblings perspective and you really get a sense of their relationship that is filled with love and frustration. I think this would be a great book to read with kids and it can give them a great perspective on what it looks like to have a close relationship with someone who
