I lovedthis book! I loved every single part of it, especially the MCs, Theo and Wills! As I thought that this book ended in a pretty satisfying way, I’m kind of apprehensive about the fact that there is a second book about Theo and Wills, and I hope that the author doesn’t throw too much trouble their way.

Theo is a rent boy since the age of 15, and even though this is bad, it’s not as bad as it could have been. He’s never done drugs and apart from the first six months he’s had a fairly good life I lovedthis book! I loved every single part of it, especially the MCs, Theo and Wills! As I thought that this book ended in a pretty satisfying way, I’m kind of apprehensive about the fact that there is a second book about Theo and Wills, and I hope that the author doesn’t throw too much trouble their way.

Theo is a rent boy since the age of 15, and even though this is bad, it’s not as bad as it could have been. He’s never done drugs and apart from the first six months he’s had a fairly good life, considering how it could have been. He met with a group of rent boys who support each other and are friends and they are fairly safe, especially financially and in their friendships with each other.

Wills works with Mark Vincent from the Spy vs. Spook series, but he’s not nearly as intense as I remember Mark being. Then again, it was three years since I read the Spy vs. Spook series and as this book takes part during the first book in that series, Houseboat on the Nile, it does in fact involve a lot of the stuff that happens in Houseboat on the Nile, so I feel that I urgently have to re-read that one. I probably have to re-read the whole series, as I’m assuming that the next book about Theo and Wills will take place during the second book of the Spy vs. Spook series.

Mark Vincent was once a tenant at the house owned by Theo and his rent boy friends and this sets events in motion that brings and Mark back into Theo’s life and Wills comes with him as a bonus. Wills is slightly bordering on too good to be true. He readily accepts that Theo’s been a rent boy, something Theo gives up when he falls for Wills and they start getting involved, and he also seems relatively problem free. He has a family that loves him no matter what and he seems pretty well adjusted all around. He has no problems at all falling for Theo and imagining a future with him.

The problems that Theo has in the first part of this book, regarding being thrown out by his father at age 15 for being gay and his way of life after that, are well written and feels real to me. That things work out so fairly stress free between Theo and Wills is easy for me to accept and like I’ve already said, I wish them all the best. What I missed a little in this book compared to the Spy vs. Spook series is multiple POVs. We only get Theo’s POV in this book and I would have liked to have a peek inside Wills head. But maybe I’ll get that in the next book, because I’m most definitely going to read that one soon! ...more
