I am happy that I decided to start with Assassins Blade before the rest of the series as it let me in on Celaena's personality, what she has been through, and I got to know certain characters that I am assuming will have a big impact on the series.
I am lucky as I knew someone who read the series, they suggested to me that I read Assassins Blade first because if you don't you will end up getting pulled out of the story line to learn about her past life and it may be feel a bit strange when you'r ...more

Celaena’s back story was a roller coaster. I had no idea it was 5 novellas, but I kinda like how it was broken into those stories.

Celaena is fucking fantastic! OMG! such a badass, that stands her ground and I feel for all her pain, and that even after all she has been trough she chooses to be the strong woman she is. And Sam... I love Sam. He is just the sweetest soul and so kind. Arobynn (or whatever his name is) can die for all I care.
For me it almost a five star read, but not quite there. I would give it 4.5 stars <3 If I got more world building it would be a 5 star, no doubt about it.
