I have to admit that although I can say with all my heart that I fell in love with this book... the beginning was really difficult. I read so slowly and at times I thought if this is going anywhere..but I was so wrong!! However, it held its grip and I just wanted to read more and see where the relationship between Nesta and Cassian goes.

I kept forgetting to write this review, but it hasn't been a month yet since I have finished this series, and it is still in my mind so that must be a good sign.

this is not my favourite book of the series, but I did think it was good. the next book better be about elain bc I am desperate for that.

Wow. With every book I read, I fall more in love with SJM and her universe.

Silver Flames was AMAZING. What a powerful, fierce story. I have never felt more empowered. The gratitude and love I feel for my life from this story is immeasurable. It reminds you of all the reasons that life is beautiful even in those dark moments. It reminds you that you are worthy even if there is darkness within you. It reminds you how powerful love truly is.

Wowza. That was a doozy.

As someone who hated Nesta going into this… I’ll give her some credit where it’s due. Her character arc was probably the grandest in the series. That being said, I still don’t think I’ll ever not get annoyed by her. But she’s a lot more tolerable now.

Maas’ depiction of Nesta’s PTSD/depression was eloquent. Despite the third person POV, you could really gather a sense of how far gone Nesta had been.

Sooooo 2/3rds of the book is literal fairy porn. Is that a spoiler? 😅 Even though the sex scenes were more graphic and frequent, they felt less spicy with less anticipation or build up than the prior books which was a let down and it all felt like it lost some of the magic— UNTIL you get to the middle/ending.
