Shelves: strong-women-lead-pov-fmc, books-to-rave-about

This was such an adventure! Coming from Assassin’s Blade I got more of a backstory on Calaena and the introduction to the other characters more into Chaol and Dorian. Calaena Sardothien is a very witty young assassin but still has a lot more growing to do which I’m sure is witnessed to come. It’s been interesting to witness her journey. Was a little bit slow in the start to me but I definitely will be reading Crown of Midnight book #2 soon to see this take off more 🥰

Every book this author publishes is incredible!

You’ve got action, romantic tension, evil kings, hot princes, protective guards, kind princesses with hidden agendas, helpful ghosts, intriguing history, magic and of course demons trying to kill everyone.

Honestly, I knew I was going to give this book 5 stars when we discovered the hidden door leading to tunnels in Celealna’s room.

This was a slow starter for me, I don’t think I really got into it at all until about page 200. I haven’t connected with any of the characters, yet. But I trust Maas enough to know that it’s coming!

I will say I absolutely adore Dorian. :)
