I wanted so bad for this book to be a five star read because I had heard such amazing things about it from so many people. But overall I felt it was just okay. The story seemed a little disjointed. It felt like it jumped around too much trying to cover each character’s background story. I also felt like the premise of the cooking show was a bit odd. I felt a little indifferent about it at times, but overall I enjoyed the storyline and found the main character to be a very inspirational and admirable female character. Some things were a little far fetched for me such as the storylines surrounding the dog and it’s inner monologue and the 4 year old daughter being so advanced, but I do understand the choice to write it that way.
